192.168.29.1 JioFiber Router Login
Not working? Check the label on the back or bottom of your router.
192.168.29.1 is the local admin address of the JioFiber home gateway in India. To log in, connect to your JioFiber WiFi or a LAN port, type http://192.168.29.1 in your browser, sign in with admin as the username with the admin password for your unit. That password is printed on the router label on many units, or it is the one you (or the technician) set at first login. Some units also answer to the name jiofiber.local.html, but the numeric address is the reliable choice.
For quick WiFi changes you can skip the router page completely and use the MyJio app. Both routes are covered below.

Default usernames and passwords
| Brand / model | Username | Password |
|---|---|---|
| JioFiber home gateway | admin | On the router label, or the password set at first login |
How to log in
- Connect your phone or laptop to the JioFiber WiFi, or plug a cable into one of the gateway's LAN ports.
- Switch off mobile data on your phone so the request goes through the router.
- Type http://192.168.29.1 in the browser address bar and press Enter.
- If the page opens on a status screen, click the Login button to reach the sign-in form.
- Enter admin as the username and your admin password, then sign in.
- If the router asks you to create a new admin password, follow its rules (usually upper and lower case, a number and a symbol) and note it down.

Change the default admin password as soon as you're in.
What is 192.168.29.1?
JioFiber gateways build your home network in the 192.168.29.x range, and the gateway itself is always .1. Every phone, TV and set-top box in the house gets an address such as 192.168.29.10 or 192.168.29.45 from it. Most other Indian broadband providers stick to the classic ranges: Airtel Xstream Fiber generally uses 192.168.1.1 and Excitel often uses 192.168.0.1. Jio's different range is why generic router guides fail on a JioFiber box.
JioFiber, JioFi and other Jio devices
Do not confuse the JioFiber home gateway with the pocket JioFi hotspot. JioFi devices use their own address (commonly 192.168.225.1, also reachable as jiofi.local.html) and a different admin page. Other Jio hardware may differ too, so if 192.168.29.1 does not open, check the label or the gateway address on your device. For everything about Jio's broadband service, see our JioFiber router login guide and the India hub.
Check the gateway address
A quick check tells you whether you are talking to the JioFiber box or to a second router plugged into it:
- Windows:
ipconfig> Default Gateway. - Android: Settings > WiFi > tap the JioFiber network > Gateway (sometimes under Advanced or View more).
- iPhone: Settings > Wi-Fi > (i) > Router.
- Mac: Option-click the WiFi icon in the menu bar and read Router.
If you see 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, you are connected through your own extra router. Log in there, or connect directly to the JioFiber WiFi.
Fixes when the JioFiber page won't open
- Use http://, not a search. Typing the number in the search box sends you to Google.
- Try https. If plain http does not load on your firmware, try
https://192.168.29.1and accept the browser warning about the router's own certificate. - Wrong network. Make sure you are on JioFiber WiFi, not a mesh extender or your mobile hotspot.
- Password not accepted. The admin password is different from the WiFi password. If a technician reset the router, the old one may no longer work.
- Locked out after several tries. Wait a few minutes before trying again.
- Still stuck. Restart the gateway with its power button or by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
Change your JioFiber WiFi name and password
From the router page: log in, open Network > Wireless (the exact label varies by firmware), select the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz radio, edit the SSID and the passphrase, choose WPA2 or WPA3, and click Apply. Devices drop off and need the new password.
From the MyJio app: open your JioFiber connection in the app and look for the WiFi settings option to change the network name and password without opening the router page.
Tip: give the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks distinct names if a smart plug or older laptop struggles to connect.
Port forwarding and CGNAT
Gamers and CCTV users often log in to set up port forwarding. Be aware that some JioFiber connections sit behind carrier-grade NAT, where incoming connections from the internet never reach your router, even if the forwarding rule looks correct. If your rule has no effect, ask Jio support about a public IP option rather than changing more settings.
Security essentials
- Change any admin password that is printed on the label.
- Keep the admin and WiFi passwords different.
- Review the connected devices list and remove anything unknown.
- Use the guest network for visitors where your firmware offers it.

Frequently asked questions
What is the JioFiber admin username and password?
The username is admin. Check the router label for the password; if you or the installer already changed it, use that. Forum users often mention an older shared default, but current units usually make you set your own at first login.
Does jiofiber.local.html work?
On some units, yes. If it does not load, use http://192.168.29.1, which always points to the gateway on your network.
Can I change the WiFi password from my phone?
Yes. Use the MyJio app, or open 192.168.29.1 in your phone's browser while on JioFiber WiFi.
Why does port forwarding not work on JioFiber?
Your connection may use carrier-grade NAT. Ask Jio whether a public IP is available for your plan.
What happens if I press the reset button?
The router returns to factory settings, including the WiFi name and passwords, so you will have to set up WiFi again. If the internet does not come back on its own, contact Jio support.
Is 192.168.29.1 the same as my public IP?
No. It is private and only works at home. See your public address with What Is My IP.
