Router Login in India: Find Your ISP's Admin IP
Router login in India usually comes down to one of four addresses. Airtel, BSNL Bharat Fiber and many fibre boxes open at 192.168.1.1; TP-Link, Tenda and D-Link routers supplied by ACT, Excitel, Hathway and local cable operators often use 192.168.0.1; JioFiber has its own 192.168.29.1; and Xiaomi or Redmi routers sit on 192.168.31.1. Pick your provider below for a step-by-step guide, or use the tips on this page to work out which router you have.

Internet providers

Most-used router IPs
- 192.168.1.1 Airtel Xstream Fiber, BSNL Bharat Fiber ONTs, Hathway ZTE/Genexis
- 192.168.0.1 TP-Link, Tenda and D-Link routers (ACT, Excitel, Hathway, local ISPs)
- 192.168.29.1 JioFiber Home Gateway (also jiofiber.local.html)
- 192.168.31.1 Xiaomi / Redmi routers; many JioAirFiber indoor units
Which router login IP is common in India?
The address depends less on the city and more on who made the box. Fibre units from ZTE, Genexis and similar brands, and Airtel's Xstream Fiber routers, mostly answer at 192.168.1.1. Retail-style WiFi routers from TP-Link, Tenda and D-Link, which ACT, Excitel, Hathway and thousands of local cable operators hand out, default to 192.168.0.1. Jio chose a less common range for its own gateways, so JioFiber customers need 192.168.29.1. People who buy a Xiaomi router online land on 192.168.31.1, and JioAirFiber indoor units often use that same address.
How to identify your router and ISP
- Read the label. Under or behind the router you will find the brand, model, default access address and the WiFi key. Photograph it before the router goes on a high shelf.
- Check the gateway. On Android open the connected WiFi network and look for Gateway or Router; on iPhone tap the (i) next to the network; on Windows run
ipconfigand read Default Gateway. That number is your login address. - Look at your bill or app. MyJio, JioHome, the Airtel app, ACT Fibernet, My Excitel, the Hathway app and BSNL Selfcare all show which service you are on.

Three passwords Indian users often mix up
- WiFi password: what you type on a phone to join the network.
- Router admin password: opens the settings page at 192.168.x.x. On Hathway ZTE and Genexis units it is the MAC ID from the label; on JioFiber the username is admin.
- ISP account password: used in your provider's app or website. On some ACT, BSNL and local-cable connections it is also stored inside the router to bring the internet up, so changing it without updating the router can cut the connection.
Most people only ever need the first one. Several Indian ISPs let you change it from their app (MyJio, JioHome or the Airtel app) without opening the admin page at all.
Before you reset or call support
A simple restart (power off for 30 seconds) fixes most evening slowdowns. A factory reset wipes your WiFi name and password and, on many Indian fibre connections, the internet settings your installer entered. Reset only when you are locked out, and keep your account number ready in case the ISP has to reconfigure the line. Typed 192.168.l.l or 192.168.0.l and landed on a search page? The IP Typo Fixer turns it into the correct address.
Frequently asked questions
What is the most common router login IP in India?
192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1 cover most homes. JioFiber is the big exception at 192.168.29.1.
How do I find my router IP on a phone?
Open WiFi settings, tap your connected network and look for Gateway or Router. That address opens the login page.
Can I change my WiFi password without logging in to the router?
Yes, on JioFiber (MyJio), JioAirFiber (JioHome) and Airtel Xstream Fiber (Airtel app). Other providers need the router's admin page.
Why does my router page say the password is wrong?
The installer may have changed the default, or you are entering the WiFi password instead of the admin password. Check the label first, then ask your ISP.
Is it safe to log in to 192.168.1.1?
Yes. It is a private address inside your home network and the page comes from your own router, not from the internet.
