Excitel router login usually starts at http://192.168.0.1. Excitel includes a WiFi router with its broadband plans, and many of these units open their admin page at 192.168.0.1, while others use 192.168.1.1 instead. The exact address, username and password are printed on the label under the router, so check it first. Once you are in, changing the WiFi name and password takes about two minutes.

How to log in

  1. Turn the router over and note the default access address, username and password from the label.
  2. Connect your phone or laptop to the Excitel WiFi, or use a LAN cable. Turn off mobile data.
  3. Type http://192.168.0.1 (or the address on your label, such as 192.168.1.1) in the browser address bar.
  4. Enter the username and password from the label and click Login.
  5. If the label details do not work, the installer has probably changed them. Raise a ticket in the My Excitel app to get them.

How to change the WiFi password

  1. Log in to the router admin page.
  2. Open the wireless settings. Depending on your model this is Wireless > Wireless Security, Basic > Wireless, or Network > WLAN > Security.
  3. Set the security type to WPA2-PSK (or WPA/WPA2-Personal).
  4. Type the new password in the key, passphrase or password field and click Save or Apply.
  5. Repeat for the 5 GHz network if you have one, then reconnect your devices.

Excitel routers do not all come from one manufacturer, so the label matters more than any list online. Leave the internet settings alone

Inside the admin page you will see a WAN or Internet section. It holds the connection details Excitel set up for your line. Changing them, or picking a different connection type by accident, cuts the internet for every device at home. If you only want a new WiFi password, stay in the wireless pages and you cannot break anything important.

Check who is connected

Most routers list connected devices on the status page or under names like Clients, DHCP Clients or WLAN Station. Compare the list with your own phones, TVs and laptops. If something unknown keeps appearing, change the WiFi password, switch off WPS and keep the guest network for visitors.

Restarting and resetting an Excitel router

For slow speed or buffering, restart first: power off for 30 seconds, then on. A factory reset, done by holding the small reset button on the back for around 10 seconds, returns the router to the label settings and can erase the internet configuration. Only reset if you are locked out, and be ready to raise a ticket so Excitel can set the connection up again.

You can also manage your account and pay bills through the app or the web portal at excitel.com. Use a ticket for no internet, a replacement router, or login details changed by the installer.
